Special thanks to Liz Sparks for putting this fabulous adventure together.
What great Fun! Things started out great right off the bat. "Chuck Wagon" Liz (from here on out known as "Chuck Liz") not only took wonderful care of everyone with a well supplied "kitchen" full of great food, but enriched us all with her words of wisdom, especially on marriage. Who would have ever analyzed marriage as a "crap shoot"!? Well put "Chuck Lys"! The Appalachicola area was clean and pristine. Lots of wild and uninhabited areas to be enjoyed. This surely is an area on the brink of much nature based recreation. We saw many canoers and kayakers going to and fro on the roads. After a day of paddling everyone kicked backed and enjoyed a relaxing evening in the great outdoors. Most evenings were spent eating and singing together thanks to Mo and Chad on the guitar and harmonicas. Our camp was right on the water and a brilliant moon every night gave us almost 24 hours of spectacular coastal scenery. Be forewarned when going to any coastal area. Bugs! Bugs that bite! A lot! Several of our group were lucky to have bug suits, jackets, or hoods. We traveled many a mile Before we reached the camp-o, camp-o, camp-o, We traveled many a mile Before we reached the camp-o. We sat around the fire To ease our tire Where Chuck Liz did grease our chins, And paid no mind to all our sins. She grabbed outta the cooler the fat back , Took some oranges outta the sack, She didn't mind our sing-in', sing-in', sing-in', Even if it left her ears a ring-in'. Then Chuck Liz, who needs a wife, without any strife, Cut up the dinner with a fork and knife, They never had such a supper in their life, And they even chewed on the bones-o, bones-o, bones-o, They never had such a supper in their life, And they even chewed on the bones-o. We traveled many a mile Back to our town-o, town-o, town-o. We traveled many a mile Back to our town-o. Well we better go back again, 'Cause you know it was a mighty fine camp-o, camp-o, camp-o! Yeah ya know we better go back again, 'Cause you know it was a mighty fine camp-o! Suzanne |
